I first learned of the Camino de Santiago from the movie, “The Way,” by Emilio Estevez. I found the movie to be incredibly intriguing, although I had no idea when I saw the film that the Camino was an actual pilgrimage people had been walking for centuries. In 2012 I began to research the history of the Camino. As I learned more, I became more and more interested. In 2014 I was chatting with a friend, Donna, who had recently seen the film and was considering a pilgrimage of her own. In that moment we decided we would actually start the planning process and made a pact to share the journey together. We set a date for spring of 2016. Shortly after making our plans, our mutual friend, Eladio, mentioned he was interested in walking the Camino on Pilgrimage. We asked him to join us and we are now withing two months of making our dream a reality.
